Felipe Nasr turned the quickest practice lap on Friday morning in Detroit.
Brazilian Filipe Nasr paced first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice at The Raceway at Belle Isle in Detroit on Friday morning.
The series supports the NTT IndyCar Series this weekend on the tough 2.3-mile temporary street course in the Motor City.
Nasr, defending race winner at Detroit, blasted around the bumpy and demanding track in 1 minute 20.053 seconds in his Action Express Cadillac DPi entry.
American Ricky Taylor, who will compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a couple weeks, was second fastest at 120.836 in the Acura Team Penske DPi car, while Portugal’s Filipe Albuquerque was third at 121.446 in the second Action Express Cadillac,
WeatherTech qualifying is scheduled for Friday at 5:20 p.m.
Drivers will compete Saturday in the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic. The race is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. green flag.
