Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift to be launched on March 16

Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch the E-Class facelift in India on March 16, 2021. The car will be available in the long-wheelbase configuration and will be manufactured locally.

The updated E-Class LWB was unveiled in September last year. This variant has a 140 mm longer wheelbase compared to the standard car. The cosmetic update includes a reworked grille and headlamp clusters, new tail lights and chrome exhaust tips.

On the inside, the car comes with dual 10.25-inch screens – one for the MBUX infotainment system and one for the digital instrument cluster. It also gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel with capacitive touch controls.

At present, Mercedes offers the E-Class with a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 194 BHP / 320 Nm, a 2.0-litre diesel unit with 192 BHP / 400 Nm and a 3.0-litre diesel motor that puts out 282 BHP and 600 Nm. All engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The carmaker is yet to reveal the engines that will be offered in the updated model.
