Deliveries of the Land Rover Defender have begun in India.
According to an Instagram post, deliveries of the Land Rover Defender have begun. Earlier this month, the SUV was launched in India at Rs. 73.98 lakh and is available in two body styles – 90 and 110. The first Defender was delivered in Hyderabad and is finished in black. It is a Defender 110.
The new Defender is based on the D7x architecture. The off-roader has a maximum wading depth of 900 mm, an approach angle of 38 degrees, maximum break over angle of 28 degrees (31 degrees on 90) and maximum departure angle of 40 degrees. The SUV is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-way adjustable front seats with heating function, 360-degree camera, wade sensing, smartphone pack, Connected Navigation Pro, off-road tyres and centre console with optional refrigerated compartment among others.
In India, the Defender is offered with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 296 BHP and 400 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a permanent four-wheel drive system. The SUV comes with Land Rover’s Terrain Response 2 system with electronic air suspension, a locking central differential and an active rear-locking differential.
