The 2021 Land Rover Discovery will abandon diesel power in leu of hybrid powerplants. The top-of-the-line engine is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
The mild hybrid system is similar to other luxury brands and uses an accessory-driven motor generator on the front of the engine.
The Land Rover Discovery will also get a series of exterior changes for 2021.
New headlights help offset the 2021 model from the previous example. The new headlights feature redesigned LED daytime running lights to accent the restyled front fascia.
The bumper and grille will be new for 2021, as well.
The rear sports new tail lights that mimic the headlight’s lighting signature. Land Rover also uses a black bar across the tailgate to tie the rear lights together visually.
The 2021 Land Rover Discovery might be more street focused, but can still handle stints off paved streets.
The 2021 Land Rover Discovery can ford up to one meter of water.
Base models will get a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine for power.
Land Rover also revised the 2021 Discovery’s interior, giving it a new infotainment screen and Pivi Pro infotainment system.
Land Rover keeps the air suspension standard for the 2021 model.
This restyled 2021 Land Rover Discovery will start at $55,250, which includes the destination charge.
That’s a small increase in price over the previous model. For those counting at home, it’s a cool $1,600 more expensive.
