The Lowrider Colorado Springs Super Show is an exhibit of what the lowriding culture is all about—somewhat ironically located in the high altitude of the Rockies. Classic rides, high-level builds, custom paint, original paint, mild to wild interiors, and lowrider-style motorcycles were all over the place at the festive event.
These rides filling the indoor and outdoor facility, along with the owners and huge crowd that came in support, was an image of what the way of lowriding life and culture is like in the state of Colorado. There is no difference at all when it comes to the passion and dedication they represent there versus elsewhere; in fact, these cars would stand out in any part of the country. Only the Colorado license plates and club logos remind you where they hail from.
Five Decades Strong
There were a lot of recognized car club plaques and colors at the show, and quite a few of them have been around for decades. Techniques is one of those recognized club names of all, one that is chartered around the country, and their traditions live on and have been practiced for almost 50 years. They have a chapter in Denver that represents club values and true beliefs from generation to generation.

So, late Friday afternoon right before the show’s move in began, we had a chance to visit the club as they gathered at the home of their President, Joe Salazar, to prepare for all the last-minute details that go into displaying the clubs lineup at the show.
The scene and backdrop were very cool and the club had some support coming out of East L.A. and Vegas, as well. Joe is a down-to-earth, respected leader and he’s all about family—hold the Fast and Furious jokes, please. His wife owns and designed her own ’64 Impala. Their daughter completes this special family affair as she owned a custom lowrider bike and now rocks an Oldsmobile Cutlass. Families that lowride together stay together?
