Alpine will make subtle changes to the A110 in a bid to keep the sports car ahead of the Porsche Cayman
French sports car brand Alpine will unveil a facelifted version of its A110 model tomorrow, according to a new teaser video from the firm. The sports car’s mid-cycle refresh will bring minor design changes, which will help keep it competitive with the likes of the Porsche Cayman and the Audi TT.
A shadowy teaser video was released on the Alpine F1 Team’s Twitter account, highlighting the facelifted A110’s imminent arrival, but it gives very little away about the new car’s styling.

However, we’re confident that Alpine won’t stray too far from the current and only car in its line-up, not least because it uses a bespoke aluminium platform which will be expensive to re-engineer.
It’s therefore likely that the exterior updates will extend to subtle updates, sharpening up the styling but most likely retaining the brand’s four circular lights as its DRL signature. The modern machine was styled after the original A110 from the sixties, and those retro design cues are a big part of the car’s appeal.
Inside, we expect similar, minor updates. New infotainment could feature, but new materials and trims will likely be part of this facelifted car’s improvements.

It’s also likely that Alpine won’t make any major alterations to the powertrain, shunning electrification, which would likely be hard to package in the mid-engined chassis. As a result, expect the turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox to remain.
Currently, the standard A110 has 249bhp, while the range-topping A110 S offers 288bhp, but Alpine could push those performance figures a little further for this updated variant.
If this is the case then the A110’s starting price could rise from the current car’s £49,005 level for the base-spec Pure car. It’s not yet known if Alpine will also realign the car’s range trim structure.
Auto Express will bring you more details on the updated Alpine A110 as it’s revealed tomorrow.
