Elegance with a sleek silhouette.
DS (part of PSA Group) has introduced an all-new flagship large saloon for the global market – the DS 9, which will be sold in three plug-in hybrid E-TENSE versions (and as an ICE).
The elegant French limousine is built for comfort (things like active suspension do not surprise at all) and has a unique design, using a new version of the EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2) architecture with a longer wheelbase.
“Following DS 7 CROSSBACK and DS 3 CROSSBACK, this is a large, stylish saloon to head up the new French premium brand’s line up. With DS 9, DS Automobiles is emphasising its expertise, design, sophistication and technology with a global vision.
With these exciting characteristics, DS 9 conveys a perfect blend of heritage, remarkable savoir-faire and cutting-edge technology. DS 9 is an invitation to rediscover French excellence in relation to the car.”
Initially, it will be available with a system output of 225 hp (rear-wheel drive) and all-electric range of 40-50 km (25-31 miles) WLTP, but there are two more versions in the works: 250 hp (RWD) as well as 360 hp (AWD). For those who are not yet ready for a PHEV, there will still be a 225hp solely PureTech petrol engine model.
The production of DS 9 is scheduled to start later this year in China.
