Hero MotoCorp has introduced the BS6 compliant Super Splendor 125 in India. The 2020 Hero Super Splendor 125 is priced from ₹ 67,300 for the self-drum alloy wheel variant, going up to ₹ 70,800 ( all prices, ex-showroom Delhi) for the range-topping self-disc alloy version. The new Super Splendor BS6 is about ₹ 5500 more expensive than the BS4 model and joins the company’s recently updated range of products in the new BS6 era. The manufacturer introduced the BS6 versions of the Passion Pro and the Glamour earlier this month at Hero World 2020, while the Pleasure+ 110, Destini 125, Maestro Edge 125, Splendor+ among others were upgraded much earlier. Hero says it has stopped production of BS4 models and is now manufacturing only BS6 two-wheelers.

The new Hero Super Splendor gets the upgraded 125 cc BS6 engine sporting fuel injection with XSens technology. The motor now produces 19 per cent more power at 10.73 bhp available at 7500 rpm, while torque output stands at 10.6 Nm at 6000 rpm, up by 0.3 Nm. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox instead of a four-speed unit seen on the BS4 model. Hero MotoCorp has also incorporated its i3S idle start-stop system that helps riders gain better fuel efficiency while minimising emissions.
The 2020 Hero Super Splendor 125 BS6 also comes with updated hardware that includes an all-new diamond frame replacing the double-cradle unit. The new chassis has brought larger proportions to the motorcycle including a 180 mm ground clearance, up by 30 mm and higher by 20 per cent over the old version. The single seat is longer now by 45 mm for a more comfortable ride. The new frame coupled with the suspension set-up brings better suspension travel with the telescopic forks diving an additional 15 mm at the front, an increase of 14 per cent, while the rear witnesses a 10 per cent hike in travel by 7.5 mm from the dual shock absorbers.
The new Super Splendor uses a 240 mm disc up front with the base variant getting 130 mm drum brakes at either end. The bike comes with Combined Braking System (CBS) for effective stopping power. The bike rides on 90/90 R18 rear tyre.
Aesthetically, the Hero Super Splendor BS6 gets a new dual-tone paint scheme with new graphics and chrome elements. There’s a new metallic Nexus Blue paint scheme on offer, along with the other three colours – Glaze Black, Heavy Grey, and Candy Blazing Red.
